Africa grew up in Newbern, AL. She graduated with Honors from Sunshine High School, where she was active as a Cheerleader, President of the Jesse Jackson Chapter of the Honor Society, Vice President of the Beta Club, Scholar’s Bowl, Editor of The Sunshine Times, Statistician for the varsity basketball team, and Senior Class Representative. While a honored student at UAB, Africa obtained her B.A. degree in History/ Political Science, as well as a middle school teaching endorsement in Social Sciences.
While attending UAB, Africa enhanced her professional career in areas of banking, administrative assistance, and legal research and services. She anticipates entering as a first-year law student at the Birmingham School of Law in Spring 2006.
In addition to his professional duties, Africa is active in her community. She volunteers at her daughter’s school, participates in Read Across America and tutors inner city students in History, Math and Science. She visits and interacts with children from her hometown. She also participates in weekly bible study at the law firm.
Africa and her beautiful daughter, Alexia (7) currently reside in Hoover, Alabama.
